How can psychology help?
Services we offer
-
Psychology intervention
We offer evidence based psychology intervention for children and adolescents for a range of concerns, including anxiety and depression. Often this is done using a cognitive behavioural therapy approach. However, this approach doesn’t work for everyone. Therapy can be adapted to suit the needs of the client. This is a discussion we can have at an initial session. Intervention can also include support for neurodiverse children including social skills, anxiety, emotion regulation, environmental and behavioural support. All psychology intervention sessions are completed face to face with young children, either in the clinic, home or school setting. Parent only and some adolescent sessions can be completed face to face or via Telehealth.

Assessment
We conduct a range of psychological assessments including diagnostic, cognitive, academic (psychometric) and behavioural assessments. These evaluations can include assessment for autism, ADHD, intellectual disability and other diagnoses. This approach involves clinical interview with a range of parties and quantitative assessments. Tests may include the WISC-V, WPPSI-IV, WAIS-IV, WIAT-III, and many more.

Home and school visits
We believe in working in close collaboration with parents, carers and school staff. Some therapy can be completed in a child’s natural environments to ensure the best possible generalisation of skills. This also allows all parties to collaborate closely and ensure clear communication around progress or concerns.
